Since 2015, Peter Buerger is a Pacific Coast Banking School (PCBS) faculty member, where he teaches the core class "Bank Financial Risk Management". PCBS, now in its 78th year, operates in partnership with the Graduate School of Business at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. The institution's mission is "to develop leaders for the diverse financial services industry by offering outstanding graduate-level banking and leadership education, delivered by world-class faculty, teaching a highly relevant and innovative curriculum".

Since 2014, Peter Buerger is associated with Cass Business School / City University London. Initially starting as an industry expert in the Executive Education program, Peter has been appointed as Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Finance in July 2016. In addition to custom programs, Peter is part of the annual open Cass/RMA* "Advanced Risk Management Program", a program designed for business leaders, functional heads and senior risk managers from all sectors.
